Ron Shelton spent nearly 20 years saying no whenever anyone asked him about making a ‘Bull Durham’ sequel. A year ago, he began to see some possibilities, and started talking about it.

Some of the old gang from the much-loved 1988 baseball classic gathered Friday at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y., to commemorate the film’s anniversary, reports Mark McGuire of the Albany Times-Union. Among the speakers was Tim Robbins, who played the hard-throwing youngster Nuke LaLoosh.

‘I actually told Ron this idea a couple of months ago,’ Robbins began. ‘(Nuke) hurt his arm. I want the sequel to open with him at one of those trade shows signing autographs.’

It could be fun, if they can pull it off.
