Detroit Lions fans everywhere are pinching themselves.

Team President Matt Millen is out.

According to a Fox report, Millen was either fired or resigned late Tuesday. The beleaguered executive, whose team has gone an NFL-worst 31-84 since he arrived in 2001, didn’t show up for the team picture Tuesday and reportedly was packing boxes in his office Wednesday.

It was Millen who drafted busts such as Joey Harrington, Mike Williams and Charles Rogers, yet as long as he stayed in the good graces of the Ford family, he was Teflon-coated.

The news of Millen’s firing comes just two days after Bill Ford Jr. said he’d show Millen the door if he -- and not his father, William Clay Ford -- called the shots. Those comments were made on the heels of Detroit’s embarrassing 31-13 loss at San Francisco on Sunday.

The Lions have lost all three games this season and 10 of their last 11.

Meanwhile, in Oakland, Lane Kiffin is still coach of the Raiders.

Maybe Al Davis was just waiting for Millen, one of his old linebackers, to get cut loose so he could hire him as coach.

Hey, it’s just a joke, but with the Raiders you never know...

Update: AP has just reported that ESPN’s Chris Mortensen talked to Millen’s wife who says that her husband has indeed been fired.
