With two home runs, including a game-winning, two-run shot in the ninth inning of the Angels’ 6-4 victory over Seattle on Thursday night, Vladimir Guerrero now has a .363 average (120 for 331) with 26 homers and 77 RBIs in his career against the Mariners.

A Seattle-area reporter noted in the postgame interview with Angels Manager Mike Scioscia that Guerrero always seems to rise to the occasion against the Mariners, but this scribe must not have been aware of Guerrero’s demolition of teams like the Texas Rangers, Oakland Athletics and Baltimore Orioles over the years.

‘Vlad doesn’t discriminate when it comes to hitting,’ Scioscia said. ‘He’s had a pretty good career against a lot of teams and a lot of good pitchers.’
