Bragging rights go to the Kings to start the season after they dumped the Ducks, 6-3, at Staples Center.

Penalties reared their ugly head for the Ducks once again. They committed 13, compared to nine for the Kings, setting the stage for three power-play goals for Los Angeles.

Six players scored for the Kings. Tom Preissing and Jarret Stoll finished with a goal and an assist and Anze Kopitar and Dustin Brown had two assists each.

Brian Sutherby, Todd Marchant and Teemu Selanne scored for the Ducks, who fall to 0-3 to start the season for the first time since the 2003-04 season.

Helene Elliott will have a nice column on this later tonight on latimes.com. Ducks fans might want to have a glass of wine first.
