His birthday falls on the same day as Christmas, but Clippers rookie guard Eric Gordon said he ‘never got the short end of it’ when it came to Christmas/birthday presents and attention.

“To me, it’s good,’ Gordon said with a laugh. ‘It’s an extra celebration on that day.”

People who will start their holiday shopping on Black Friday should know that anecdotal evidence (here and here) suggests that those celebrating birthdays on Christmas Day sometimes feel shortchanged.

But Gordon, 19, said he can’t recall which presents stand out the most.

“The younger you are, the more things you want,’ Gordon said. ‘Since I’ve gotten older, the presents have gotten limited. It’s less and less.”

If all goes according to plan, Gordon’s rookie year might be his best present yet. He’s expected to make his second start as shooting guard tonight against the Denver Nuggets. In his first start on Monday, Gordon scored a season-high 25 points.
