NASCAR’s Kyle Busch set to visit Fontana

NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Kyle Busch is scheduled to visit Auto Club Speedway in Fontana on Wednesday to promote the Auto Club 500 at the track Feb. 22.

Busch’s itinerary includes attending a cookout with speedway season ticket holders, talking to students at Etiwanda Intermediate School and, from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., meeting fans who buy tickets to the race at the track’s ticket office.

The 23-year-old Busch, a Las Vegas native known for his aggressive driving style and often cocky attitude on the racetrack, at times dominated the Cup series last season and won eight races in his No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota.

And the first victory of the Busch’s career came at the two-mile Auto Club Speedway oval -- then called California Speedway -- in September 2005.
