Angels sign Maicer Izturis to a one-year contract

The Angels signed utility infielder Maicer Izturis to a one-year contract worth $1.6 million. The figure is near the middle of salary figures exchanged this month by the Angels and Izturis, who was eligible for arbitration. Izturis asked for $1.885 million and the Angels offered him $1.4 million.

Izturis’ 475th, 500th, 525th and 550th plate appearances each would earn him an additional $25,000 in incentives.

With Izturis signed, pitcher Ervin Santana is the Angels’ only remaining arbitration case.
