The UCLA basketball team has begun preparations for a showdown with Pac-10 leader Washington at Pauley Pavilion on Thursday night minus a big part of its game.

Center Alfred Aboya returned from the Bruins’ weekend trip to Arizona with what coach Ben Howland described as ‘bad flu symptoms.’

Aboya is the latest flu victim, with several of his teammates falling ill last week.

The senior missed practice on Monday and was expected to sit it out again this afternoon. Howland said he hopes that Aboya can return on Wednesday.
