Orson Charles, a standout high school tight end from Florida, announced today that he would attend Georgia, choosing the Bulldogs over USC and Tennessee.

Charles, 6-foot-3 and 230 pounds, was one of few star seniors who did not sign a letter of intent in February. He met with USC Coach Pete Carroll and his staff a few weeks ago during a campus visit with his mother.

Charles played at Plant High in Tampa, the same school that produced former Trojans All-American Mike Williams.

Charles told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Thursday that Carroll, in a late recruiting push, told him he was reserving No. 7 for Charles if he chose the Trojans.
