Josh Shipp‘s memorable week did not go unnoticed.

The UCLA swingman was named the Pacific 10 Conference’s player of the week after back-to-back career-best scoring performances against Oregon State and Oregon.

Shipp started with 27 points against the Beavers on Thursday. That included 17 straight points for the Bruins in a span of 4:06, and five three-pointers.

On Saturday against the Ducks, he followed with 28 points on 11-of-17 shooting.

‘He’s letting the game come to him,’ Coach Ben Howland said. ‘Really playing with a lot of poise.’

Shipp is the third Bruin to be named player of the week this season, after point guard Darren Collison and center Alfred Aboya.
