Talk about suspenseful endings.

USC was not assured a spot in the championship game of the Pacific 10 Conference women’s basketball tournament until three officials met for several minutes at midcourt at the Galen Center to decide whether California forward Ashley Walker beat the clock with a game-tying shot off a cross-court alley-oop inbounds pass.

The officials ultimately decided that she did not, giving USC a 69-67 victory over the 12th-ranked Golden Bears.

USC (17-14) will play for the tournament title Sunday against the winner of tonight’s semifinal between second-ranked Stanford and UCLA.
