Jimmy Clausen‘s performance in the Hawaii Bowl -- he completed 22 of 26 passes for 401 yards and five touchdowns -- appears to have gone to his head.

Asked what his expectations were for the coming season, the former Oaks Christian star told the Chicago Tribune, ‘I’m trying to play like that every single time I come out. That’s where I want to be each and every game.’

Of course, there’s one problem with that.

Every game isn’t against Hawaii.

In the Tribune story, it didn’t even sound like Coach Charlie Weis was buying it.

‘... he threw 26 passes, completed 22 with four dropped balls. Doesn’t get any better than that. That might be the best game he ever plays.’
