I’ve got a story coming in tomorrow’s newspaper on Covina’s John Molina, who’ll fight on the undercard of Friday night’s ESPN-televised boxing show at the downtown Nokia Theatre.
Molina, 26, appears to be on his way to giving his trainer, Joe Goossen, the opportunity to direct a fourth world lightweight champion following his training of Diego Corrales, Joel Casamayor and Gabriel Ruelas.
Unless you’re a hard-core fan who’s watched fights at the Quiet Cannon, Lemoore’s Tachi Palace or San Manuel Casino, you’ve likely never seen Molina in action. I talked to him last week after one of his training sessions with Goossen in Van Nuys, and here’s what he had to say:
