Late-afternoon word from the Clippers:

Al Thornton had an MRI exam on his left foot earlier on Thursday and it was negative for any fracture or bone edema. Still, it is a painful bone bruise and happens to be in his dominant foot, the one he pushes off with.

He suffered the injury on Saturday at Houston and missed Wednesday night’s game against the Hornets. Chatted with him in the hallway last night afterward down by the New Orleans locker room -- while waiting for a post-game audience with the great man himself, the Hornets’ Chris Paul -- and Thornton was in a fair amount of pain.
