Del Mar to offer free admission on Wednesdays

Fans of thoroughbred racing in Southern California just found another reason to head to Del Mar this summer: Free admission on Wednesdays.
After the success of a similar idea at Santa Anita and Hollywood Park, Del Mar will offer free admission, a free reserved seat, half-price drinks and half-price hot dogs on Wednesdays during its meeting from July 22 to Sept. 9. Opening day will not be included in the promotion.
There is one catch. Patrons have to sign up for the track’s Diamond Card by filling out a form outside or inside the admission gate.
They’re calling the promotion ‘Free & Easy Wednesday.’
