Dixon wins NHRA top fuel race in Topeka

Larry Dixon, a Van Nuys High graduate, won the NHRA top fuel portion of the Full Throttle Drag Racing Series event at Topeka Heartland Park in Kansas on Sunday. He beat Clay Millican in the final.

Ron Capps, the leader in the funny car standings, beat Ashley Force Hood, in the funny car final at Topeka.

Ron Hornaday Jr. blew a tire but didn’t blow his lead in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series standings. He finished 26th in the Truck Series race at Dover International Speedway on Saturday, but he still has a 27-point lead in the Truck Series standings.

Tim Huddleston of Agoura Hills won his third straight NASCAR Late Model race at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale on Saturday night.
