Some notable results from Saturday’s qualifying for the L.A. Women’s Tennis Championships, which begin Monday at the Home Depot Center:

Alexandra Stevenson, daughter of Julius Erving and Wimbledon semifinalist at the age of 18 (a decade ago), lost to Michaella Krajicek 7-5, 6-4; 17-year-old Melanie Oudin, who reached the fourth round at Wimbledon after upsetting Jelena Jankovic, beat Alina Jidkova 6-4, 6-1; 38-year-old Kimiko Date Krumm beat Alison Riske 6-4, 4-6, 6-3; Lindsey Nelson of Villa Park and a former player for USC, beat Elena Baltacha 4-6, 6-4, 7-5; and top-seeded Jill Craybas beat Nicole Gibbs 6-1, 6-0.

Dinara Safina is the top seed in the main draw.
