Nick Joanides wins one of two NASCAR Super Late Model races at Irwindale

Nick Joanides, a driver from Woodland Hills, was victorious in one of the two NASCAR Super Late Model races at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale on Saturday night. Joanides, the leader in the Super Late Model standings at the track, won his 11th race of the year.

Mackenna Bell, a female driver from Carson City, Nev., and a driver in the NASCAR Drive for Diversity program, finished third in one of the Super Late Model races, her best finish at the track this season.

Ryan Reed, a driver from Bakersfield and the leader in the Legend Cars standings at the track, made his debut in the new S2 division at Irwindale. Because of age restrictions at the track, he was not allowed to race in the S2 division until he turned 16. His 16th birthday was on Aug. 13 and he finished second in his debut race in the S2 division. R.J. Johnson, a driver from Canyon Country, won the S2 race, his first of the season.
