Melanie Oudin’s run in the U.S. Open ended Wednesday night, and the next day reports surface about divorce proceeding for her parents.

It’s a messy story involving an alleged affair between Oudin’s mother and Oudin’s coach. And if Oudin hadn’t advanced so far in the tournament and become such a crowd favorite, the story probably wouldn’t have received such prominent play.

But while it seems we are now living in a TMZ/National Enquirer style world, does that make it right? Does Melanie Oudin becoming a prominent tennis player make her entire life fair game, or should some things just remain private? Do we need to know about all of this because it might impact her game?

Does the public have the right to know about this? Vote in today’s poll, then leave a comment letting us know why you voted the way you did.
