Williamsport, Maryland, is just a couple of hours by train from New York City, so you’d expect the fine folks there to be rooting for the Yankees this week. But that’s also the home of former Angel pitcher Nick Adenhart, who was killed along with two companions just hours after the third game of the regular season when the car in which they were riding was struck by an alleged drunk driver.

The Angels, who continue to place Adenhart’s jersey in their dugout during games and who have voted the pitcher’s family a full playoff, say one of their motivations this fall is to win the World Series so they can give NIck’s father Jim a championship ring.
