A Bruins team that struggled to handle the ball in the backcourt. A Bruins team that could not defend against the drive.

A Bruins team that went into hafltime trailing, 31-28, to Concordia, a small school from Irvine that plays in the NAIA.

The smallish Eagles looked significantly quicker, penetrating the lane, scoring over UCLA big men who offered little in the way of help defense as guard Justin Johnson raced to 17 points.

UCLA guards Malcolm Lee and Mustafa Abdul-Hamid provided no response early. Only the play of forward James Keefe, who made two three-point baskets among his nine points, kept the Bruins close.
