UCLA point guard Jerime Anderson, pestered by a groin injury, has made it through only a few full practices over the last month. That’s not good for a young man expected to direct the offense this season.
So Anderson needs to make up for lost time in a 7:30 p.m. exhibition against Humboldt State at Pauley Pavilion.
Asked how many minutes the sophomore might play in his debut tonight, Coach Ben Howland replied: ‘As many as he can handle.’
‘Hopefully, he’ll stay out of foul trouble,’ Howland said. ‘He’ll play a lot of minutes.’
The Bruins have less than a week remaining before Monday’s season opener against Cal State Fullerton.
