UCLA Coach Rick Neuheisel canceled practice, as the Bruins continue to wait to see if their season will be extended. Neuheisel cited the weather for canceling practice Friday and Saturday, saying, “What we were going to get done today didn’t match the risk on somebody getting hurt and not being able to play.”

UCLA will see Saturday if there is a need to resume practice. If Army beats Navy, then the Bruins’ season is over and Army plays Temple in the EagleBank Bowl on Dec. 29 at Washington’s RFK Stadium. If Navy wins, UCLA plays Temple.

Neuheisel met with the team Friday, but “decided it was wise to see how things played out.’ If Navy wins, UCLA will resume practice on Sunday.

If Army wins, “then we get on with recruiting on Monday, send the kids home and reconvene when the next quarter starts.”

The Bruins have only a few health issues, and they are not expected to be short-handed if there is a bowl game.

Kevin Prince, who suffered a mild separated right shoulder against USC, should be at “full strength by mid-week,” Neuheisel said. Long snapper Christian Yount has mononucleosis, but Neuheisel said he should be able to travel with the team and play in the game.
