The sun was out momentarily here in La Quinta today. It’s not now. Those clouds are looking ominous but there is an actual schedule for resumption in play at the Bob Hope Classic golf tournament. Round two was rained out Thursday, only the third time in 51 years this desert tournament lost an entire day to rain.

Pros are to begin teeing off between 11 a.m. and 12:10 p.m. on the various courses (four are used) they had been assigned for Thursday’s round; they will play in twosomes. Saturday the players will play the course they had originally been assigned for Friday, with action continuing to roll over with the Sunday rounds being played on the originally scheduled Saturday courses.

The final 18 holes of the 90-hole event are scheduled for Monday. It would be the first Monday final since 1980. Spectators wishing to see action on the SilverRock course today should enter through the main parking area because the SilverRock lot is still flooded.
