Ducks send rookie Dan Sexton to minors

In the wake of the trade that sent goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere to Toronto for forward Jason Blake and goaltender Vesa Toskala, the Ducks sent rookie forward Dan Sexton back to the minors today.

Sexton, whose nine goals and 18 points in 28 games made him one of the few pleasant surprises of the Ducks’ season, was assigned to Manitoba of the American Hockey League. Since his recall from Manitoba on Dec. 4, Sexton had led all NHL rookies in goals and points.

In addition, the Ducks called up goaltender Justin Pogge from San Antonio of the AHL.
