USC’s first day before the NCAA’s infractions committee is over.

School officials, under orders from committee chair Paul Dee, declined to comment.

‘We have been instructed by the chair of the proceedings not to discuss the proceedings,’ USC spokesman James Grant said.

With the exception of perhaps running backs coach Todd McNair, most of USC’s contingent appeared unfazed after the eight-hour hearing in Tempe, Ariz. School President Steven Sample and Athletic Director Mike Garrett were pleasant with reporters but followed Dee’s instructions.

‘I can say hello and I can say goodbye,’ Garrett said.

Former Coach Pete Carroll is leaving Arizona, but the rest of USC’s representatives will be back Friday for more questions from the committee.
