Arizona State put UCLA behind early in the first half Saturday and cruised to a 32-21 lead. The Sun Devils scored the first 13 points, while the Bruins were shut out until Tyler Honeycutt’s dunk with 15:40 left in the half.

The Sun Devils were not overwhelming, merely better. They shot 43% in the first half, but were tenacious. They had four offensive rebounds on one possession, which ended with a layup by Eric Boateng late in the half. Arizona State had a 20-13 edge in rebounding.

Boateng and Ty Abbott both had eight points in the half to lead the Sun Devils.

UCLA shot 36% in the half and was one for seven on three-pointers. Honeycutt had seven points to lead the Bruins.
