Justin Johnson wins NASCAR Super Late Model race at Irwindale, takes over lead in standings

Justin Johnson of Las Vegas won the first of two NASCAR Super Late Model races at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale and took over the lead in the Super Late Model standings at the track.

Dusty Davis, his teammate at Vision Aviation Racing out of Las Vegas, won the second Super Late Model race at Irwindale.

Nick Joanides of Woodland Hills, the reigning Super Late Model champion at the track, finished sixth in the first race and 13th in the second race. His motor broke at the end of the second race and he had to withdraw.

Joanides won the first two Super Late Model races of the season at Irwindale.
