Not that it’s a total surprise, but cyclist Lance Armstrong has posted on his Twitter account that this year’s Tour de France, which begins Saturday in Rotterdam, Netherlands, will be his final appearance in the race that he has won a record-setting seven times.

Armstrong had to retweet his retirement because his first post said, ‘And yes, this will be final Tour de France. It’s been a great ride. Looking forward to 3 great weeks.’ Kind of made it sound as if this would be the last Tour de France. The race will, however, continue next year without Armstrong. As Armstrong said, proving that he must be a fan of ‘The Simpsons’: ‘Doh.’
