Jon Wood among entrants in SRL Southwest Tour Series race at Irwindale

Jon Wood, grandson of Glen Wood of the famous Wood brothers’ NASCAR racing family, is among the entrants for tonight’s Stockcar Racing League Southwest Tour race at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale.

Wood won two NASCAR Truck Series races in his career and was a regular on the old NASCAR Winston West Series.

The SRL Southwest Tour Series is making its second visit to Irwindale. There are 30 cars entered in the race. A number of NASCAR K&N Pro Series West drivers are entered in the race: Eric Holmes, the leader in the West series standings, Troy Ermish and Jonathon Gomez.

Derek Thorn, a driver from Bakersfield, leads the SRL Southwest Tour standings by seven points over Gomez.
