The shiny new Pacific 12 Conference begins play this season, and UCLA is getting an upgrade before the season begins.
The Bruins, who have finished no higher than eighth place in Coach Rick Neuheisel’s first three seasons, are guaranteed to finish no worse than sixth in the new two-division alignment.
A media poll predicted that the Bruins would finish fifth in the South Division, ahead of Colorado. USC is picked to win the division, followed by Arizona State, Utah and Arizona. USC is ineligible to participate in the Pac-12 championship game.
Oregon is picked to win the North Division.
