His Movember mask design has had a shelf life of more than a week -– drawing well-deserved attention, far and wide -- so now it was time for Ducks goalie Jonas Hiller to deliver a few individual reviews.

‘I think I like Devo the best. He just looks like it could be for real,’ Hiller said of rookie Devante Smith-Pelly.

The Ducks were back in Anaheim after a marathon trip, and Hiller was examining his customized mask depicting various Ducks teammates with mustaches. Hiller’s painter, Alec Voggel of Airxess, took Hiller’s idea of doing something different for the charity event to raise awareness for men’s health issues and ran with it, so to speak.

Just call it the Picasso of goalie masks.

“We’ve got a couple of good ones,” Hiller said. ‘The painter had a lot of fun with it. Dan Ellis ... I think he could grow it that way. Lubo [Lubomir Visnovsky] is definitely different, but I don’t think you are going to see Toni [Lydman] with that.”

Two of Hiller’s teammates, Saku Koivu and Jason Blake, are cancer survivors. His Movember mask will be auctioned off at the end of the month, and additional details will be provided at latimes.com.

“I also have a friend who fought against cancer,” Hiller said. “It doesn’t matter if you are a professional athlete and not making any money at all, it can happen to anybody. It’s definitely good to have that awareness.”
