Nathan Olivarez-Giles is a Technology reporter at the Los Angeles Times and the lead writer of the Technology Blog. He also shoots and edits video for the Times’ Business Desk, Technology Blog and Lakers Blog.

At the Times, Nathan has covered consumer electronics, small business, biotechnology and white-collar crime, among other subjects. He has also covered breaking news on the Metro Desk and worked on investigative projects with the Data Desk.

Nathan graduated from the University of Arizona, with a double major in journalism and Mexican American studies, and before joining The Times in 2008 he produced video for The New York Times and covered crime and education for the Arizona Daily Star in Tucson.
