Google, which handed out 10% raises to all of its employees to get them to stay put, has apparently let one of them go.

The Internet search giant terminated an employee who leaked a memo about the raises to a technology blog, according to a published report.

‘Within hours, Google notified its staff that it had terminated the leaker,’ CNNMoney reported.

‘We don’t comment on personnel matters,’ a Google spokesman said.

Loose lips couldn’t possibly sink this ship, but Google took swift action anyway, probably to send a very blunt message.

Google usually blacks out information from the media like a Jedi master. Think the launch of Chrome or its self-driving cars.

Lots of big companies cannot maintain that kind of forceful mind trick (yes, we are talking about you, Kara Swisher, who is instantly forwarded every memo Yahoo has ever written).

In fact, we think it’s pretty Obi-Wan Kenobi-like that Google told 23,300 people that they were getting 10% raises and only one leaked the memo.
