Charlie Sheen is on Twitter, taking his message of winning directly to the people after a couple of days of TV interviews that have been described as a meltdown.
Despite the lack of messages, Twitter confirmed the account’s authenticity.
And then, at about 5 p.m. Sheen sent out his first tweet, which said:
Winning..! Choose your Vice... #winning #chooseyourvice http://twitpic.com/455ly9
The message linked to a photo of Sheen, holding a bottle of chocolate milk and porn star Bree Olson, one of his two girlfriends, holding a Naked fruit smoothie.
Among the first few people Sheen has followed so far on Twitter is Chris Ovitz, the director of business development at Ad.ly -- a Beverly Hills firm that writes tweets or Facebook status updates for celebrities who are, for a fee, endorsing different products or brands.
Later he tweeted:
Questions..? I’m here for my people..! Bring it!! #Tigerblood
The #Tigerblood hashtag was seemingly in reference to Sheen’s statements in interviews that he has tiger blood in his veins, which he also described as Adonis DNA.
Sheen has also used the hashtags #Winning and #WeWin, which both reference what he’s described in interviews with CNN, Howard Stern, NBC and ABC, among others, as a battle with CBS, the company that produces and airs ‘Two and a Half Men,’ which is the highest-rated TV show.
In his Twitter profile bio, Sheen describes himself as:
Born Small... Now Huge... Winning... Bring it..! (unemployed winner...)
Sheen has been paid about $1.8 million per episode for ‘Two and a Half Men,’ a salary that is said to be the largest in TV.
But production of the sitcom was put on hold recently as Sheen was going through some very public struggles with drug use, a topic he’s addressed a bit in his streak of media interviews this week.
In a joint statement last week, CBS and Warner Bros. offered their reasoning behind suspending production of the show, saying, ‘Based on the totality of Charlie Sheen’s statements, conduct and condition, CBS and Warner Bros. Television have decided to discontinue production of ‘Two and a Half Men’ for the remainder of the season.’
Late last night, rapper-producer-entrepreneur Sean ‘P.Diddy’ Combs tweeted Sheen, writing:
@charliesheen can u please send me the address to ur house? Ive been dreamin about a party like this all my life #winning! See u soon! Lol
Sheen, who has said in his interviews this week that he has been sober, responded with:
@iamdiddy Get dressed my man... sending the driver..!
By about 7:15 Wednesday morning, Sheen had more than 780,000 followers on Twitter.
