Patrick Goldstein’s vacation continues, but the show-biz must go on...

In case you missed it over the weekend, Sunday’s Calendar section featured 10 people who are igniting movie buzz in Hollywood.

To qualify, you don’t need to be local or even alive, considering that no one on the list is from Los Angeles and one featured author has been dead for 72 years. You just need to have the ability to rule the screen, whether as director, writer or performer.

One of our profilees even has (had?) a prime role opposite Brad Pitt in ‘Moneyball,’ which Sony pulled the plug on just as production got to the on-deck circle. Thank goodness Demetri Martin has a few other projects going for him.
