Enrique Ramos, 21, a Latino man, was struck by gunfire at 1609 E. 60th St. in Florence, and died at 11:45 a.m. Feb. 3.

Ramos was a random victim. He was sitting on his front porch talking to a friend when a young man, possibly a teenager, walked up to them, cursed at them, made a reference to gangs, then pointed an assault rifle and fired. Ramos was struck and killed; investigators believe he was not a gang member, and don’t think his assailant knew him. Sheriff’s detectives are looking for a young, very short suspect, 5’0”, between 110 and 120 pounds. He got into a light blue van, which sped off southbound on Makee Ave. Anyone with information is asked to call Sheriff’s Homicide at (323) 890-5500.
