Michael Huguez, 23, a Latino man, was shot in a van in front of 1948 E. 78th St. in Florence in a double homicide. He died at 4:10 a.m. Thursday, April 19. Huguez was pronounced dead at the scene. Leonard Munoz, below, was also shot; Munoz was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Capt. Ray Peavy of Sheriff’s homicide called this, ‘the opposite of a drive-by.’ He said the pair were driving down the street when people on the sidewalk fired at them with a high-powered assault rifle, striking both.
