The Mandivelle siblings were former foster children who made their way out of the system together by bootstraps and determination--helping each other, and both working. Eric Mandivelle worked at McDonald’s, and survived on his wages. He was murdered April 22 in Long Beach. Some readers have sought information on Lavonne, seen here leaning down to kiss her brother at his funeral.
