Compton homicide

Compton: A black man was shot in the 700 block of Greenleaf Boulevard about 7:10 p.m. Wednesday, July 11. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died.

Sheriff’s Deputy Oscar Butao said the man was standing on the street when a Latino man arrived on foot. There was an argument. The Latino man pulled a gun and shot the victim in the torso. The victim’s name had not yet been released.
