Jesus Garcia, 21, a Latino young man, was shot multiple times at about 4:30 p.m. Monday, July 9, in front of 1818 E. 84th St. in Florence, and died at 5 p.m.

He walked out of the house and got into an argument with a Latino man on the street. There was yelling. The man plled out a gun and shot him, then fled on foot, said Sheriff’s Det. Steve Lankford. Garcia was associated with a neighborhood gang, and gang rivalries may have fueled this quarrel. Anyone with information is asked to call Lankford at (323) 890-5500.
