Manuel Pasqual, an 18-year-old Latino young man, was stabbed at 9200 Deeble St. near Southern Avenue and Tweedy Boulevard in South Gate at about 11:43 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1. He died Sunday, Sept. 2 around 12:25 a.m.

He was leaving a party with friends. They weren’t gang members, but that did not prevent them from being challenged by a group of youths who were. There was a fight. Pasqual was killed.

Update: Sheriff’s detectives have cleared this case. At least one latino suspect was arrested.
