Dejuan Andino, 28, a black man, was shot multiple times in the 900 block of South Essey Avenue in Compton about 5:08 p.m. Thursday, April 17. According to the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department, Andino was taken by ambulance to St. Francis Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 5:47 p.m. Coroner Spokeman Craig Harvey said Andino was walking on the sidewalk when he was shot by a gunman.
