Roberto Romero, 27, a Latino man and his brother, Manuel Romero, 36, also Latino, were shot and killed at 532 W. 74th St. in South-Central L.A. about 9:45 p.m. Authorities said Manuel was pronounced dead at the scene. Roberto was taken to California Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

According to Det. Carlos Velasquez of LAPD’s 77th Street Division, the two men and the suspect were standing near Manuel’s van. The suspect pulled out a handgun and fired several shots at the two men. Velasquez described the suspect as a black man with shoulder-length cornrows or braids. He was seen driving from the scene in a silver or beige SUV, Velasquez said. Anyone with information about the incident can call (213) 485-1659
