Christopher Gonzalez, 21, a young Latino man, was killed in a drive-by shooting at 12003 Magnolia Ave. in El Monte at about 8:47 p.m. Friday, June 6.

According to L.A. County Sheriff officials, Gonzalez was standing outside when a black Nissan Altima drove by. Two Latino men in the vehicle fired several times at Gonzalez, striking him in the upper torso, authorities said. The vehicle was seen leaving the area, heading eastbound on Magnolia Avenue. Authorities did not say how many times Gonzalez was shot. He was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene, authorities said.
