Homicides: June 16 - June 22

The Los Angeles County coroner’s office has confirmed the following deaths as homicides. The Times will report more details later this week:

Sonny Garcia, a 20-year-old Latino,on June 18. Garcia was shot in the 4900 block of Elrovia Avenue in El Monte.

Carlos Yanez, a 18-year-old Latino, on June 18. Yanez was shot in the 1400 block of Griffith Avenue in unincorporated Los Angeles.

Antonio Araiza, a 46-year-old Latino, on June 18. Araiza was shot in the 7400 block of Kelvin Avenue in Winnetka.

Juan Corales, a 26-year-old Latino, on June 19. Corales was shot in the 1600 block of Mona Avenue in Compton.

Gabriel Banos Arcos, a 17-year-old Latino, on June 19. Banos was shot in the 6200 block of Santa Monica Boulevard in Hollywood.

James Hayward, a 28-year-old black man, on June 19. Hayward was shot in the 1700 block of 117th Street in Willowbrook.

Armando Valdez, a 37-year-old Latino, on June 20. Valdez was shot in the 1300 block of 69th Street in unincorporated Los Angeles.

Perry Wilson, a 36-year-old black man, on June 20. Wilson was shot in the 500 block of East Manchester Boulevard in Inglewood.

Michael Gudiel, a 24-year-old Latino, on June 21. Gudiel was shot in the 13900 block of Proctor Avenue in unincorporated Los Angeles.

Update: The names of the following homicide victims initially were not available

Jahmonte Domoni Derrett, a 20-year-old black man, on June 19. Derrett was shot in the 2400 block of California Avenue in Signal Hill.

Jose Antonio Ibarzabal, a 54-year-old Latino, on June 19. Ibarzabal was shot at the intersection of 150 Street West and West Avenue D in unincorporated Los Angeles.
