Larick Matheson, a 58-year-old black man, was shot and killed on Saturday, Aug. 22, in the 2900 block of Rimpau Boulevard in West Adams, according to Los Angeles police.
Matheson had gone to the home to pick up a car key when he was attacked, police said. Authorities said the shooter was apparently standing in the home’s driveway when Matheson arrived in a car, accompanied by a friend.
When Matheson got out of the car, the shooter approached him and shot him multiple times before running away, said LAPD Officer Norma Eisenman.
Matheson was taken to a hospital, where he died.
