With its money, its cadre of seasoned advisors and a candidate who got to watch firsthand as her husband ran for the White House, Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign is setting the standard for leaving no stone --- or, more precisely, no political niche --- uncovered.

Further evidence of that emerged today, when Clinton’s director of Hispanic communications, Fabiola Rodriguez-Ciampoli, announced the launch of an online bilingual social networking page for the senator from New York. It’s an apparent first for a presidential contender (certainly the first we know of).

The page is hosted by MyGrito.com --- a MySpace that targets Latino audiences. On her page, Clinton pledges, in English and Spanish, that visitors ‘will learn about my positions on issues that are important to Latinos. I hope we get to know each other more. It’s very exciting to see all the comments and questions that our friends are posting, and each week we’ll choose a ‘Question of the Week’ so we can have a conversation.’

Last time we checked, Clinton had 53 ‘friends’ who had checked in. We’re assuming they do not include Tom Tancredo, who in his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination is making a point of decrying what he views as an excessive reliance on bilingualism in American life.
