Opinion: Sheriff Shaq

Hard as it is to miss anything about Shaquille O’Neal, it’s just come to our attention that as he readies for life after pro basketball, he’s been musing about combining politics with law enforcement.

Specifically, during an appearance on ‘Live with Regis and Kelly’ earlier this month (forgive us, but we didn’t realize it was a political must-see), Shaq said he ‘probably’ would run for sheriff in either the Ft. Lauderdale or Orlando areas.

No one could deny he’d be an imposing candidate. And just imagine the ramifications if he won. At the least, a certain guard for the L. A. Lakers would have to plan his future excursions into Florida very carefully.
