Opinion: New L.A. Times/Bloomberg poll focuses on Florida and Ohio

The 2000 presidential race, famously, came down to Florida. (See video below.)

The 2004 presidential race came down to Ohio (not quite so contentiously).

So with the 2008 election one week away, how are these two crucial states leaning?

Pollsters for The Times and Bloomberg News spent the last few days questioning voters in both states and, though The Ticket can’t reveal their findings quite yet, the numbers show both states tilting in the same direction.

The results will appear on our home page about 2 p.m. Pacific.

Early voting has been underway in Florida and Ohio, and the poll checked in with some of those who already have cast ballots. In this case, a mixed picture emerges. (The video below covers early voting.)
